HP SolutionsSince our inception, VNS has worked extremely close with HP because we felt that HP provided the highest overall value and performance to our customers. That commitment to excellence has allowed us to become the valley's largest local HP and Compaq partner, with the highest number of full-time HP trained and certified technicians and engineers on staff. If you have an HP or Compaq problem or need in Central California, VNS is the place to call. We consider ourselves a local extension of the HP presence here in the valley and have a comprehensive HP demo center available to demonstrate the latest HP technologies to our clients. das nas san iscsi storage server desktop hp compaq proliant procurve san iscsi ipaq deskpro evo blade server desktop pc laptop notebook network solutions fresno computer service repair consulting consultants mcse printer laserjet deskjet inkjet plotter sales amd intel xeon opteron insight cim riloe ilo agent msa eva data protection exchange sql data protector backup microsoft tape backup hp-microsoft frontline partnership blade server vmware blades chassis insight manager cim
HP/Compaq users love their systems for many reasons but mainly because they just plain work. VNS is no exception and we "eat our proverbial dogfood", so to speak, by running VNS on HP hardware exclusively. Unlike some of their competition, HP aggressively invests in research and development, to create new technologies that many people may not realize HP is responsible for. The vast majority of this development is done by American employees, and not farmed out overseas. Patriotism aside, though, we lead with, and recommend HP solutions because we believe in them. SMART drive monitoring, Insight Management Boards, blade server technology, pre-failure hardware warranties and key SAN technologies were all developed or spearheaded by HP, and we feel that HP provides an unparalleled level of product depth, breadth and performance to our customers.
Local Support and PresenceVNS has been servicing and supporting Compaq and HP products from day one because we firmly believe that we must support what we sell throughout it's lifecycle. We are proud to be service and support authorized for HP and can provide warranty and post warranty services for nearly every HP / Compaq commercial and consumer product. We maintain a stringent HP training and certification program, with ongoing training and certification such as the HP ASE, AIS and APS certifications and status. Our CEO is a former Senior Consultant with Compaq, who previously provided consulting services to Compaq’s “Platinum” accounts – Fortune 100 customers, and maintains extensive contacts within HP. This network of contacts can be leveraged on the customer’s behalf to solve almost any HP-related problem. For example, if a problem is found with a specific chipset, on a particular server, running a specific OS/app, VNS can usually make a call or two and find the actual engineer(s) that are working on that solution and speak with them to find a resolution. Or if there is a warranty service problem, VNS can engage a regional services manager with a single call/email. VNS is warranty-authorized in both HP and Compaq products, and can provide a level of local support and presence that cannot be matched by large, out of state manufacturers. Post Sale Warranty SupportHP pioneered the concept of a global pre-failure warranty on hard drives, memory and processors that the competition emulates today. HP delivers warranty services through either their own staff, or through partners such as VNS, at the customer’s discretion. HP has extremely stringent standards for becoming service authorized, thus the partners who hold this authorization are more competent than the cheaper subcontractors that some competitors send out to deliver services. InnovationHP and Compaq have historically been engineering companies with some of the industry’s most innovative solutions. They develop the technologies that they (and Dell) adopt in-house, and can provide substantially deeper insight and support into these products/technologies to support customers. They also proactively develop patches/updates/revisions as a primary means to drive change – not customer complaint driven. R & D. Research and development have made HP the leader in bringing new industry standards to market: 8-way servers, hot plug redundant components, resilient memory, clustering and hot plug PCI... to name a few. Engineering QualityHP servers start the same as the clone (generic, white-box PC) makers. The company engineers its systems out of basic standard components. All vendors, including HP/Compaq, use Intel, AMD or Intel-equivalent chips and standard disk drives and memory, and they all load current versions of Windows. But the similarities stop there. It is what HP does with these standard components that sets its systems apart. To start, the company has established preferred supplier relationships with the leading component suppliers, which ensures that it receives a sufficient supply of thoroughly tested quality components. In addition, HP engineers work with suppliers to get the most out of the components. This includes fine-tuning drivers, thorough testing, optimizing application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) and making sure communication between the various components flows unimpeded. This work, however, tends to be invisible to users. To them, HP systems just seem to work better. Early errors in Intel's new Itanium chip were first isolated by HP via the "meatgrinder," a very stringent testing program run by HP's Houston lab (formerly the Compaq Computer testing facility, prior to the HP/Compaq merger). HP testing however, extends beyond the hardware. All software – from low-level drivers, through the Windows operating system, to application software – go through stringent Windows certification testing. When HP incorporates software from other vendors into its solutions, this software must also pass stringent compatibility tests, as well as Microsoft certification. Environmental ResponsibilityHP's Planet Partners recycling service provides an easy way to recycle any brand of computer equipment or HP printing supplies. HP's state-of-the-art processes ensure that unwanted hardware or empty HP printing supplies are recycled responsibly. HP recycled more than 120 million pounds of used computer hardware and HP print cartridges globally in 2004. This brings HP's cumulative recycling total since 1987 to 616 million pounds – more than halfway toward meeting the company-wide goal to recycle 1 billion pounds by the end of 2007.
