Covad (GoBeam) is a business class broadband phone VOIP service tailored for commercial accounts, whereas Vonage is generally used by residential customers looking to leverage their high-speed Internet connections at home and eliminate monthly toll costs associated with traditional analog phone lines. Covad and Vonage are different companies, with entirely different services. Vonage typically uses consumer grade end-point devices such as Linksys, or Netgear - but can also use commercial grade terminal adapters such as the Cisco ATA-186 or ATA-188, or or the Motorola VT1000. Vonage is also beginning to offer Video over IP which is also a service that VNS can provide, using commercial grade solutions from Axis.
